The base a station can't run without
The foundation of any station is made up of four blocks: the touch control panel, the pumping equipment, the vehicle detection system, and the power cabinet. These aren't options — without them there's simply no bay.
Everything else is an add-on. And that's exactly what should be chosen not by price list, but by how the site will actually operate in practice.
Overpaying for an unused option is annoying for years; missing a needed one costs you customers.
How many bays to build
This is the first decision, and it pulls everything else along with it: power, the volume of utility connections, floor area and the final budget.
The temptation to start with one or two bays "to try it out" is understandable, but it's usually a mistake. A queue on Friday evening turns away customers more than price does: a person will just turn around and drive to a site that's free — and most likely stay there.
Wash programs
Water, active foam, osmosis, wax — the minimum set a customer expects to see. Additional scenarios (rim wash, pre-treatment, hot wax) add to the average ticket, but only once there's already traffic.
At launch, it's smarter to nail the basic programs well than to offer ten buttons, half of which will sit idle.
Service options: what actually pays off
- Vacuum cleaner. One of the most in-demand add-on services. It often determines where the customer goes.
- Air blower and turbo-dryer. Especially valued in winter, when water on the body freezes within minutes.
- Tire inflation. An inexpensive option with high loyalty payoff — a reason to stop by even without a wash.
- Gate control. For covered sites in Siberia and the North, this isn't a convenience — it's a necessity.
Climate changes the configuration
For Barnaul, Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk, Krasnoyarsk, Surgut, Kogalym and Novy Urengoy, heating the technical zone and preparing for −35°C isn't an option somewhere in the middle of the list — it's a mandatory part of the project.
Savings here come back to bite you the very first winter: a frozen pipe shuts the site down during the exact season when a car wash is needed most.
How to calculate the cost
A basic equipment set starts from 430,000 ₽ per bay. The final figure depends on the number of bays, the set of programs and service options — the exact calculation is made by an engineer for the specific site.
And it's worth calculating not the purchase price but the total cost of ownership: pump service life, parts availability and the cost of downtime over several years weigh more than the difference in price at order time.
